Workshop "Spin-orbit effects in molecules and solids: diversity of properties and computational precision"
Dresden, November 13-17, 2017
(Scientific program: November 14-17, 2017)
The meeting combines a scientific workshop with a related tutorial. The workshop shall be devoted to the exploration of spin-orbit effects in solids and molecules by DFT methods and the related present limits of computational precision. The tutorial aims at the introduction of students and interested senior scientists by the developers into background, handling and application of new modules of the full-potential local-orbital (FPLO) code to problems of topical interest.
There will be no conference fee.
The scientific programme consists of invited talks (from the morning of Nov. 14 till the afternoon of Nov. 17) and posters.
The tutorials will be focussed on new modules of the FPLO code.
They are scheduled for the afternoons of Nov. 14, 15, and 16.
To participate in the tutorials, basic command of the FPLO code is explicitly required.
This workshop is supported by Psi-k network, MPI-CPfS and Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research
